No. 5 Oklahoma State 6, No. 2 Oklahoma 3

The beginning of the Bedlam series certainly did not disappoint. Oklahoma struck first scoring two runs throughout the first and second innings, but rookie Karli Godwin had other plans for the night. Doubling for the second time, she evened the score at two. Micaela Wark and Jilyen Poullard quickly followed up with a pair of solo home runs extending the Cowgirl lead.Β

Godwin dominated at the plate once again, blasting a two-run home run to center field, making that her third hit and fourth RBI of the game. The Sooners began to threaten in the sixth inning when they cut the lead in half, but Oklahoma State held them until the end. Lexi Kilfoyl took the win for the Cowgirls in relief.Β

This was Oklahoma State’s first win in Norman since 1997.

This may be her first Bedlam, but she ain’t acting like it.

Karli Godwin’s stat line so far: 3-for-3, two 2B, one HR, four RBIs… is that good?#GoPokes | @karligodwin2 | @Phillips66Gas pic.twitter.com/p3aFkgOc5k

No. 4 Texas A&M 2, No. 12 Florida 1

With Texas A&M up one run and a no-hitter going through five innings, the Gators found their groove when Skylar Wallace doubled to bring in the tying run. The Gators then loaded the bases with one out and Ava Brown scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly to right field. The Aggies’ lone run came from Trinity Cannon’s speed on the base path when she hustled from second to home after a shot to left field.Β

On defense, Katie Kistler dazzled deep in right field catching a fly ball and then throwing out Texas A&M’s runner at second base for a double play.Β Β

Game 1: Syracuse 4, No. 11 Florida State 3
Game 2: No. 11 Florida State 3,Β  Syracuse 2

After 23 losses, Syracuse upset Florida State and achieved its first win against the Seminoles since 2005. Tied at three in the seventh inning with bases loaded, Syracuse capitalized on the moment when Angie Ramos ripped a liner to center field to walk it off.Β

Florida State came back in game two with an RBI from Kaley Mudge and an insurance run from Jaysoni Beachum to lead the way to victory. Syracuse threatened to win its first-ever series against the Seminoles when they came within just one run in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short.Β

Utah 5, No. 14 Washington 4

Both Utah and Washington were persistent at the plate. After Brooklyn Carter ripped an RBI double to bring in two runs, Utah answered with two runs. Brooke Nelson blasted her 12th home run of the season for Washington, Utah broke through to take the lead with a two-RBI double from Abby Dayton. Rylee Holtorf nearly grabbed the lead for Washington in the seventh inning with a solo home run, but the Utes held on to take the series opener.Β

Utah, a team firmly on the tournament bubble, desperately needed this win while Washington, which is trying to host a regional, might have to let go of those dreams.Β

Game 1: Omaha 2, South Dakota State 0
Game 2: South Dakota State 6, Omaha 4

The nation’s longest active win streak came to an end tonight, as Omaha snapped South Dakota State’s 17-game streak. The Jackrabbits never had a chance to cross the plate during game one of the night due to Kamryn Meyer throwing a complete-game shutout. Meyer allowed just two hits and struck out six batters.Β

More chaos ensued in game two with back-and-forth runs. South Dakota State responded to the last game, scoring two in the second inning, but Omaha was quick to follow. South Dakota State eventually captured the lead and the win in the sixth inning when Mia Jarecki hit a two-run triple.
