The Black Cloud

Raced forward from the wide barrier draw after she jumped with a show of early speed. Struggled to make up ground in the straight, running second behind Fleetwood who led the whole way. The heavy 9 track conditions didn’t look to suit her, she just needs better ground.

Iowna Merc

Was only fairly away and settled just back from midfield. Turning into the straight he showed a dashing turn of foot to only just be denied by 0.7 lengths. Being his first run on a heavy track there were queries to how he would handle it but this proves he can run on anything. Two runs in now this preparation and should be peaking next start.  Will be hard to beat.

Ruby Flyer

Rounding into the straight he was four lengths off the leaders, no clear run presenting itself until 150 metres to go. Still three lengths back, he got to the outside and showed impressive wet track ability, flying around the rest of the field and go on to win by 1.5 lengths. Doesn’t mind the heavy going and is very willing.

Starman

Solid run but just couldn’t find enough to get across the line first finishing third by 3.4 lengths. This was another competitive outing, now making it three placings in his last three wins. Incredibly honest and is always there in the finish, a win is coming.
