According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN on Thursday, the Denver Nuggets have traded guard Reggie Jackson of Pordeonone, Italy to the Charlotte Hornets. In addition to Jackson, the Hornets will receive three National Basketball Association draft picks. The Hornets will receive second round draft picks in 2025, 2029, and 2030. In return, the Nuggets will receive cash. By trading Jackson, Denver will not have to pay his $5.25 million salary in 2024-25.

Jackson is joining his fifth NBA franchise since joining the NBA in 2011. He was previously with the Oklahoma City Thunder (2011 to 2015), the Detroit Pistons (2015 to 2020), the Los Angeles Clippers (2020 to 2023), and the Denver Nuggets for two seasons (2023 to 2024).

This past season in 2023-24 with the Nuggets, Jackson averaged 10.2 points per game, 3.8 assists per game, and 1.9 rebounds per game. He also has a field goal percentage of .431, three point percentage of .359, and a free throw percentage of .806.

Jackson joins the Hornets two seasons after winning the NBA Finals with the Denver Nuggets in 2023. Used primarily in a reserve role, he scored a three-point shot on May 11, 2023 in game six of the Western Conference semifinals. With the victory, the Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns 125-100 to win the best out of seven series four games to two.

Jackson’s most notable game this past season with the Nuggets came on November 27, 2023. With the Nuggets not having their three top players in the lineup (Nikola Jokic with a back injury, Jamal Murray with a hamstring injury and Aaron Gordon with a heel injury), Denver still defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 113-104. Jackson had an impressive double-double, as he had 35 points and 13 assists and was a +25.
