According to ESPN on Thursday, the New York Giants have signed wide receiver Allen Robinson II of Detroit, Michigan to a contract. The financial terms and the length of the contract have not yet been disclosed.

The Giants are the fifth National Football League franchise Robinson II has played for. He previously was with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2014 to 2017, the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021, the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023.

In 2023, Robinson II had 34 catches for 280 receiving yards with the Steelers. After a relatively strong start to the season where he had five catches for 64 receiving yards in a 30-7 Steelers loss to the San Francisco 49ers on September 10, Robinson II’s next best receiving total was 36 receiving yards, which came in a 34-11 Steelers win over the Cincinnati Bengals on December 23.

Robinson II’s best NFL season came with the Jaguars in 2015. That season he was selected to the Pro Bowl for the only time in his career. Robinson II led the NFL with 14 touchdown catches, and had 80 catches for 1400 receiving yards.

Robinson II is not the only new face in the Giants receiving group. With the sixth overall pick in the 2024 National Football League Draft, the Giants selected Malik Nabers of Youngsville, Louisiana out of Louisiana State University. Nabers was the second wide receiver chosen in the NFL Draft. He was only chosen behind Marvin Harrison Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was drafted fourth overall by the Arizona Cardinals out of Ohio State. Harrison Jr. is the son of Hall of Farmer Marvin Harrison of Philadelphia, who was a star wide receiver with the Indianapolis Colts from 1996 to 2008.
