The latest Softball America poll features the same Top 10 teams as last week in a different order. Stanford and Georgia flip spots after the Bulldogs’ loss came against a ranked Alabama team compared to the Cardinal’s slip-up against Sacramento State. Yes, we know Stanford beat Georgia earlier but it was an extra-inning game with a razor-thin margin for error.

Tennessee and Washington also flip spots as the Lady Vols had one of the most impressive sweeps this season of then-ranked No. 11 Missouri. The Huskies were impressive in Tucsom with a pair of run-rule wins, but falling in the series finale makes the slightest difference in this tier of teams.

Kansas and Louisiana enter the poll. This is the first appearance for the Jayhawks after going 5-0 this past week with a couple of wins over Wichita State and a sweep of Baylor. They are also 16-2 in their past 18 games. The Ragin’ Cajuns return after a sweep of South Alabama plus a win over McNeese. They have won nine games in a row and appear to have turned a corner in their difficult schedule.
